As we know from the previous post, Christian has been led astray by a certain Mr. Worldly Wise Man, who sent him to Legality Hill.
Let’s get into what happened and how it represents our own lives as believers.
The Hill

Christian goes to Legality Hill hoping that whoever is there can remove the burden on his back.
But once he is there, and sees the rocky slope and fiery flashes of lightning, he begins to be afraid.
He regrets listening to Mr. Worldly Wise Man.
Then Evangelist comes and asks Christian what he’s doing at the hill. Feebly, Christian tries to explain that he only wanted to be rid of his burden.
Evangelist is disappointed in Christian, but after Christian repents, forgives him.
Christian goes back to the road Evangelist first set him on.
“How is it, then, that thou art so quickly turned aside? For thou art now out of the way.”
-Evangelist
Gone Astray
Just like Christian, we humans tend to be led astray and into trouble by those who don’t follow the Lord.
Maybe we mix up our priorities and start putting ourselves before God. Maybe we’re convinced into doing something that we know is not right. Maybe we start to ignore God and skip church because other people are doing it.
Whatever it is, we have to realize that the further we stray from the path God put us on, the more painful it will be.
Instead of listening to Mr. Worldly Wise Man, we should keep going in the way that God has set before us.
That’s all for today! Stay tuned for more Pilgrim’s Progress!!
